Opening iso-files in Vista

I have earlier used Alcohol120% to read iso-files, but it doesn't seems to work in Vista. How can read iso-files (virtual CD-drives)? reidarT

Were you able to get it to mount images in x64? I installed MagicISO-which made an ISO image... I then installed MagicDisc(as Administrator) which is their mounting program, but it says that "MagicDisc doesn't detenct driver(mcdbus), Please re-install MagicDisc to re-install MagicDisc Virtual CD/DVD Rom"

Try this one....MagicISO it will at least mount and create ISO files in vista beta 2, it also will actually show the files in the x64 version (yes there is more than a readme file in it!)

That one hit XP Pro x64 as well.

I've not tried and it doesn't say that it supports Vista.
I just have a feeling it works :-) Then again it might render Vista unbootable :-)
Or if you don't need mounting tool then WinRAR might do for simple extraction. Doesn't read UDF though.

IsoBuster and UltraISO work to open ISO files. There aren't really any virtual drive programs that work in Vista though. There was one, but I can't think of the name of it ATM. ---------- Mark Dietz PROnetworks <http://www.pro-networks.org>

Anyone get Magicdisk to work in Vista RTM? I get the same error on boot.
I can install it (2.5.74) andit works great until the next reboot and then I get the driver error...I know it is freeware but I emailed MagicISO's support. No response yet. I figured that since their download link mentions Vista, they might care.

Right click on the shortcut for MagicDisc and choose properties. From the Compatibility tab, select the "Run this program as an administrator" checkbox and click OK.
Everything should be fine now...

WinRAR from www.rarlabs.com can also open ISO files in Vista. Carlos
